Description

If anyone can positively identify the species please let me know as I've only been able to narrow it down to genus name based location, and comparing photos. Also a brief explanation of what common spider body movements/gestures mean would be greatly appreciated, as I'm a first time spider owner, who is trying to get over her fear of spiders.

Aw, he's so cute! Great job taking this effort to get over your fears. No idea what species he is exactly, but for spider movements... generally when jumpers rear up to look at you or an object, they're curious and would like to jump over to what they're seeing to inspect it more closely, so don't scare as he does so. Stretched legs towards the new object should warn you of a jump in advance. Rearing up completely at something, say a finger, with the legs up and possibly the fangs out signifies fear, so don't come closer then, at least until he calms down and lowers himself ^^ Grooming, rubbing the pedipalps and legs over one another and the body signifies a calm, content spidy that doesn't feel like the environment needs to be watched constantly in order to feel safe.
Good luck and have fun, they're adorable and interesting little creatures. :D
